Suzuki Katana Available for Pre-Order

Forged to perfection and polished to a magnificent radiance. Engineered to provide maximum control and optimum performance. Finely crafted to take riding pleasure to a new level. The Suzuki KATANA is destined to create a new legend. From the sharp lines and highlights defining the length of its body to the rider-friendly performance of its 110kW (150PS) engine, every detail of the Suzuki KATANA speaks of distinctive beauty. While its design cues pay due homage to the iconic 1981 GSX1100S KATANA, which stole the hearts of riders around the world, the new KATANA is a thoroughly modern machine that is breathtaking to behold and inspiring to ride.

Japanese swordsmiths devote countless hours to repeatedly forging, hammering, folding and welding raw steel to achieve the right balance needed for the blade to perform optimally. This process is absolutely critical in achieving the desired result. Fired by the same spirit, Suzuki’s development team tested and tuned each component time and again until they were satisfied the KATANA would deliver the optimal balance of power, comfort and control.

The engine features a long-stroke design with a 73.4mm bore and 59.0mm stroke resulting in a broad power range delivered smoothly across the entire rev range. Producing 110kW (150PS) @10,000rpm with 108Nm of torque @9,500rpm putting the power to the ground through a back-torque limiting clutch. State-of-the-art technology provides ultimate efficiency, combined with it's addictive induction noise, makes every ride, a sheer exciting one.

Three-mode traction control system: This track-bred technology provides greater confidence and reduces fatigue by delivering control over engine output that helps prevent rear wheel spin. The system operates so smoothly and naturally that it does not interfere with handling, even when the rider wishes to engage in aggressive sports riding. The rider can freely select one of three modes using the convenient handlebar switch. Mode one is for sport riding with minimal intervention; mode two offers the ideal balance for typical road conditions; and mode three delivers maximum traction control when riding in poor conditions.

The Antilock Brake System (ABS) control unit, produced by BOSCH, is compact and light, weighing in at just 640g. It monitors wheel speed 50 times per wheel rotation, and matches stopping power to available traction.

The Suzuki Katana is available for Preorder now at TeamMoto Suzuki Virginia!

As an added bonus and gesture of Suzuki's appreciation for customer commitment and patience, all customers who pre-order their new KATANA online from the first shipment will also receive a bonus exclusive KATANA themed Arai QV-Pro helmet, valued at $995 with their bike delivery.

Available in two colours, the iconic Metallic Mystic Silver and striking Glass Sparkle Black. The first shipment is scheduled to arrive in Australia during September for a manufacturer's suggested price of $18,990 Ride Away with 12 months registration ($17,490 + ORC) and is backed by Suzuki's 24 month, unlimited kilometre warranty.

Ever since our first motorcycle engine in 1950, Kawasaki has been continually pursuing new technologies in the creation of our high-performance engines. Today, our models are filled with numerous original Kawasaki technological features that have evolved over our long history.

Smartphone connectivity contributes to an enhanced motorcycling experience by enabling riders to connect to their motorcycle wirelessly.

Clever technology enables riders to connect to their motorcycle wirelessly. Using the smartphone application "RIDEOLOGY THE APP," a number of instrument functions can be accessed, contributing to an enhanced motorcycling experience. Vehicle information (such as the odometer, fuel gauge, maintenance schedule, etc) can be viewed on the smartphone. Riding logs (varies by model, but may include GPS route, gear position, rpm, and other information) can be viewed on the smartphone. When connected, telephone (call, mail) notices are displayed on the instrument panel. Riders can also make changes to their motorcycles instrument display settings (preferred units, clock and date setting, etc) via the smartphone. And on certain models, it is even possible to check and adjust vehicle settings (such as Rider Mode, electronic rider support features, and payload settings) using the smartphone.

Power Tuner App

Since the power tuners app release both the 2019 YZ250F and the WR450F have joined smartphone-based tuning movement.

The all new Yamaha new Power Tuner iOS and Android app and communication control unit connects the rider with the bike like never before. The new Yamaha Power Tuner app can make fuel and ignition mapping changes - uploaded wirelessly to the bike via the onboard Wi-Fi system - for the ultimate in track-side tuning.

A log function allows you to make notes about your riding location, conditions, bike settings and more, giving you a baseline for future rides. The app can also monitor a range of data such as race settings, maintenance and system diagnostics, engine run time and more.

The app can be downloaded free from App Store and Google Play and allows even greater engine mapping in greater detail than ever before, but also allows users to share settings among the team or with friends - making it even easier to share set-up information across a wide range of bLU cRU riders.

On The Fly Monitoring

Not only can you adjust the fuel and ignition curves right from you Andriod or iOS device, you can also monitor the engine's running parameters; including current engine speed, throttle position, battery voltage, coolant temp, intake air temp and air pressure.

On The Fly Mapping

Using your device's touch screen, you can instantly fine-tune your fuelling and ignition settings to achieve optimum performance. And the sharing function also allows you to compare your settings and race logs with other YZ450F riders!

Communication Control Unit

For the first time ever on a production motocross bike the 2018 YZ450F comes standard with an integrated Communication Control Unit (CCU) much like that found on the YZF-R1M. The CCU provides wireless connectivity between the bike's ECU and the Power Tuner iOS® and Android® app in order to make fuel and ignition mapping changes. The CCU is neatly integrated into the rear subframe triangle section for ease of access.

Engine Control Unit

Marrying an all-new CCU into the 2018 YZ450F wasn't just about connecting it to an existing Engine Control Unit (ECU). The engineers at Yamaha redesigned the existing ECU to not only communicate under the harshest conditions with the new YZ450F's CCU, but also relocated it to make accessing it easier than ever as well as making more secured than ever - placing it just behind the all-new fuel tank and above the cylinder head.
