The 776cm3 parallel twin engine that powers the V-STROM 800 delivers a fine balance of smooth, controllable power and free-revving performance you will enjoy on every outing, whether heading out for a long journey loaded with gear or simply enjoying daily rides around town. Designed to be powerful, efficient, rider-friendly and versatile, the engine features a 270-degree crank layout with a firing order that produces abundant torque and positive traction, as well as a pleasing rumble similar to that of a V-twin engine. The engine’s compact front-to-rear size contributes to achieving optimum weight distribution and chassis geometry, while it also helps position the hip point forward to provide you with an optimal riding position.

The V-STROM 800’s chassis geometry is engineered to provide maximum stability, controllability and comfort on long-distance touring runs. Every aspect of its design also prioritizes comfort while minimizing fatigue when touring for long distances.
Keen attention was devoted to optimising the riding position. Related details include a dedicated handle position that creates a slight forward lean and an overall riding position that is more comfortable and advantageous for street riding, enabling you to easily shift your weight and control the bike when negotiating tight corners at speed.
In addition, the seat height of 825mm helps make it easier to plant your feet firmly on the ground when stopped.
Steel frame
At its core, the strong steel frame provides excellent straight-line stability, contributes to nimble handling and performs well at highway speeds, while at the same time featuring the right amount of flex to help maximize comfort on long rides or when passing over rural trails.
Alloy swingarm
The lightweight construction of the uniquely shaped aluminium swingarm contributes to a smoother, more comfortable ride by enhancing trackability and rear suspension response.
Suzuki’s design team set the following goals for the new V-STROM 800’s styling. The design must carry on the tradition of the V-STROM series. At the same time, it must convey a thoroughly modern look and must reflect the all-round capabilities of the product.
The first key element is to stay true to its V-STROM heritage and the Suzuki design ethos of creating unique styling expressions that gave birth to the series’ distinctive character. For example, the V-STROM 800 features the latest evolution of the “beak” design first introduced to the world in 1988 on the DR-Z 800 desert racer.
Windscreen
The relatively tall height-adjustable windscreen for the V-STROM 800 features a shape and size defined by extensive wind tunnel testing and analysis that helps reduce fatigue on long rides by cutting wind noise and preventing buffeting.
Seat designed for performance and comfort
The V-STROM 800 seat features a design with a bottom shape that achieves great rigidity. This durable seat stands up well to input load, as well as to weight shifts as the rider changes position. It uses a denser foam to improve comfort for both rider and passenger when touring for long distances. The V-STROM logo embossed on the seat adds a pleasing design accent.
Footpegs
The V-STROM 800’s rubber-covered aluminium footpegs are designed to provide comfort when touring for long distances. Rubber-covered steel pillion footpegs attached to cast aluminium brackets aim to achieve the right balance of passenger comfort and support.
Large Capacity Fuel Tank
The fuel tank features a capacity of 20L that provides greater reassurance when touring for long distances by extending the riding range.
The V-STROM 800 adopts narrow tapered handlebars made from a strong yet flexible aluminium. These handlebars contribute to greater comfort and a comfortable riding position under all riding conditions.
The V-STROM 800’s custom 5-inch colour TFT LCD multi-function instrument panel features a clearly legible display of a rich variety of information. Not only does it keep the rider fully aware of all the bike’s systems and settings, it also supplies critical real-time operating status information. The look is one of high quality that helps instill pride of ownership.
