The 2027 Kawasaki KX85 L is the large-wheel version of Kawasaki's junior motocross racer, built for slightly taller riders and powered by an 84 cc liquid-cooled, 2-stroke single-cylinder engine paired with a close-ratio 6-speed transmission and manual clutch, giving young racers crisp, responsive power and room to hone their shifting skills. It runs a rigid high-tensile steel perimeter frame with a KYB 43 mm inverted front fork (275 mm travel) and a fully adjustable Uni-Trak rear shock delivering 305 mm of travel — on par with Kawasaki's full-size KX models — while large 240 mm front and 220 mm rear disc brakes (sharing componentry with the KX250) provide strong, precise stopping power. Rolling on 19-inch front and 16-inch rear wheels with Dunlop Geomax MX34 tyres, the KX85 L also features a roomier riding triangle, an 8-position ERGO-FIT adjustable handlebar mount, an aluminium Renthal Fatbar with ODI Lock-On grips, and factory-inspired styling, at an 865 mm seat height and 78.2 kg curb weight.
A robust perimeter frame delivers the strength and torsional rigidity needed to harness the engine’s full power, giving riders the confidence to push hard on the track. Complementing the frame are a high-rigidity front fork and long-stroke rear suspension, along with a powerful braking system. Built with the same “Built to Win” spirit that defines the full-size KX models, this machine is engineered to give young racers a competitive edge.
