The 2027 Kawasaki KLX230 S is a lightweight dual-sport motorcycle designed for approachable on- and off-road riding, powered by a 233 cc air-cooled, fuel-injected single-cylinder engine that delivers 13.2 kW (18 PS) at 8,000 rpm through a 6-speed gearbox, with this year's update bringing a lighter front end for improved off-road performance plus a new taillight. Built on a perimeter high-tensile steel frame, it pairs a 37 mm telescopic fork (200 mm travel) with an adjustable Uni-Trak rear shock (223 mm travel) for 240 mm of ground clearance, while its lower 845 mm seat height and light 131 kg curb weight make it especially accessible for smaller or less experienced riders compared to the standard KLX230. Rounding out the package are ABS, ERGO-FIT rider ergonomics, and smartphone connectivity through the RIDEOLOGY app.
When the road is challenging, the new KLX230 S is ready with long wheel travel, and ample ground clearance. Cancellable front/rear ABS offers the option to cater to rider preference when riding off-road. The great all-around performance of the tried-and-true engine has been augmented for an even more enjoyable and useful dual-purpose machine.
