HIGH-LEVEL CIRCUIT RIDING POTENTIAL
With an engine and chassis designed to be the fastest on the track, the Ninja ZX-10R offers a high level of circuit riding potential. To ensure it continues in its race-winning ways, Kawasaki engineers made a host of changes that will benefit racers and World Superbike teams alike.
AIR-COOLED OIL COOLER
Based on feedback from Kawasaki's WSBK race machine, the air-cooled oil cooler is a design often seen on high- performance models. Rather than routing coolant from the radiator to the oil cooler and back to the engine, it has an independent circuit. Oil is routed from the left lower crankcase to the oil cooler, where it is cooled, then returned on the right side. The increased cooling performance contributes to engine performance at all rpm.
POWERFUL 998 cc LIQUID-COOLED, 4-STROKE IN-LINE FOUR
The Ninja ZX-10R's engine balances stunning power with manageability. Positioning peak torque high up in the rpm range makes it easier for riders to get back on the gas, while a strong low-mid range further contributes to acceleration coming out of corners. Finger-follower valve actuation and other features based on feedback from Kawasaki's WSBK factory team contribute to a lofty peak power, which can easily be augmented care of a full race exhaust.
LIGHT-HANDLING CHASSIS
Complementing the highly acclaimed stability of the 2019 model, updates to the chassis geometry contribute to increased cornering performance and light handling.
HIGH-GRADE SHOWA SUSPENSION
More circuit-focused settings for the WSBK-developed BFF (Balance Free Front Fork) and BFRC lite (Balance Free Rear Cushion) shock facilitate front-rear weight transfer and contribute to light handling.
HIGH-PERFORMANCE BREMBO BRAKE SYSTEM
Dual high-spec Brembo M50 monobloc calipers gripping large ø330 mm discs, specially prepared radial-pump master cylinder and race-quality steel-braided lines* deliver next-level braking performance. *Steel-braided lines on the Ninja ZX-10RR only
STYLED FOR AERODYNAMICS
A prime example of form following function, the Ninja ZX-10R's styling package was designed with aerodynamic performance firmly in mind. The sleek, racy looks offer significantly improved drag resistance, increased downforce (thanks to an aerodynamically sculpted front cowl with integrated winglets), and better wind protection (care of a taller windshield).
NEXT-GENERATION NINJA STYLING
The aerodynamic racer-inspired front cowl, highlighted by compact LED headlights, new Ram Air intake and a taller windshield, is the "face" of the Ninja ZX-10R's next-generation Ninja styling. (Non-current colour shown)
INTEGRATED WINGLETS
Winglets built into the upper cowl generate downforce that helps keep the front wheel on the ground during strong acceleration. (Non-current colour shown)
AERODYNAMIC RIDING POSITION
Updated handlebar and footpeg positions contribute to a more aggressive, circuit-focused riding position, while the seat design helps riders minimize drag when tucked behind the windshield going down the straight.
KAWASAKI RIVER MARK
In recognition of its achievement in the Superbike World Championship, special permission to use the River Mark on the Ninja ZX-10R was granted. This is its first use on a non-supercharged mass-production model. (Non-current colour shown)
IMU-ENHANCED ELECTRONICS PACKAGE
Powered by Kawasaki's proprietary dynamic modelling program and enhanced with input from a Bosch IMU, the Ninja ZX-10R's cutting-edge electronics contribute to the riding excitement of piloting a high-performance SuperSport machine.
KAWASAKI CORNERING MANAGEMENT FUNCTION
Using the latest evolution of this advanced modelling software and feedback from a compact IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit), KCMF monitors engine and chassis parameters throughout the corner - from entry, through the apex, to corner exit - modulating brake force and engine power to facilitate smooth transition from acceleration to braking and back again, and to assist riders in holding their intended line through the corner. (Image shows motorcycle prepared for track use (not available for delivery in this form). Road motorcycle includes indicators, rear view mirrors and number plate.)
SPORT-KAWASAKI TRACTION CONTROL
S-KTRC, Kawasaki's hybrid predictive/feedback-type traction control, helps riders push harder on the racetrack by maximizing acceleration.
KAWASAKI LAUNCH CONTROL MODE
Designed to assist racers by optimizing acceleration from a stop, KLCM electronically manages engine output to minimize wheelspin and wheel lift when launching.
KAWASAKI INTELLIGENT ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM
KIBS, Kawasaki's SuperSport-grade brake management system, uses high-precision control to regulate brake pressure during sport riding.
CONTROL YOUR SPEED
The Kawasaki Engine Brake Control system allows riders to select the amount of engine braking they prefer.
KAWASAKI QUICK SHIFTER
Dual-direction KQS system allows both clutchless upshifts and downshifts, facilitating circuit riding.
TECHNOLOGY FOR STREET-RIDING ENJOYMENT
Features like integrated Riding Modes, Electronic Cruise Control and TFT instrumentation with smartphone connectivity add to street-riding enjoyment.
TRACTION CONTROL AND POWER DELIVERY AT THE PUSH OF A BUTTON
All-inclusive modes that link S-KTRC (available in 5 modes) and Power Modes (in addition to Full Power, the Ninja ZX-10R offers Middle and Low modes) allow riders to efficiently set traction control and power delivery to suit a given riding situation.
INCREASED RIDING COMFORT
Kawasaki's cruise control system allows a desired speed to be maintained with the simple press of a button. Once activated, the rider does not have to constantly apply the throttle. This reduces stress on the right hand when traveling long distances, enabling relaxed cruising and contributing to a high level of riding comfort.
FULL-COLOUR TFT INSTRUMENTATION
The compact 4.3" all-digital TFT colour instrumentation gives the cockpit a high-tech, high-grade appearance. In addition to scrollable multi- function windows, two display modes offer riders a choice of how they want their information presented.
CONNECT WITH YOUR RIDE
A Bluetooth chip built into the instrument panel enables riders to connect to their motorcycle wirelessly. Using the smartphone application "RIDEOLOGY THE APP*," a number of instrument functions can be accessed, contributing to an enhanced motorcycling experience.
*"RIDEOLOGY THE APP" is not intended for use during vehicle operation. Only use RIDEOLOGY THE APP when the vehicle is not being operated and it is safe to do so.
ÖHLINS ELECTRONIC STEERING DAMPER
Unlike a mechanical steering damper - in which the settings, once fixed, must cover all riding conditions and speeds - the damping characteristics are changed electronically according to vehicle speed, and the degree of acceleration or deceleration.
NINJA ZX-10RR SPECIAL FEATURES
The Ninja ZX-10RR, a limited-production (500 units worldwide) track-focused single-seat model, enhances the potential of the base model with further engine and chassis modifications, including a higher rev limit, Pankl titanium connecting rods and lightweight pistons, and Marchesini forged wheels. (Image shows motorcycle prepared for track use (not available for delivery in this form). Road motorcycle includes indicators, rear view mirrors and number plate.)
TRACK-FOCUSED ENGINE TUNING
In order to take full advantage of regulations in the Superbike World Championship, a number of engine changes increase the Ninja ZX-10RR's rev limit to 14,700 rpm. Raising the rev limit not only moves the powerband 500 rpm higher, it enables an even wider powerband, strengthening the Ninja ZX-10RR's easy-to-use character. The changes also contribute to improved engine response.
PANKL PERFORMANCE PARTS
The Ninja ZX-10RR features special high-performance titanium connecting rods and lightweight pistons designed by Pankl, a company specializing in developing and manufacturing engine and drivetrain components for formula race cars, high performance vehicles and the aerospace industry. These high-performance parts, which contribute approximately 500g in weight savings, were developed specifically for the Ninja ZX-10RR.
SPECIALLY DESIGNED MARCHESINI FORGED WHEELS
7-spoke multi-directional forged aluminium wheels specially developed by Marchesini contribute to lighter handling - especially when changing direction.
