FUN TO RIDE

Both the Versys 1100's engine and chassis were designed to maximise rider enjoyment on the street. Whether in town, exploring backroads or heading for the horizon, its In-Line Four engine delivers a rewarding surge of acceleration with every twist of the throttle – even more so with its increased displacement. The increase in engine performance is paired with excellent chassis balance and long-travel suspension settings enabling superb control and feedback, and offering a high level of rider confidence in numerous street riding situations.

ENGINE

An increase in displacement from 1,043 cc to 1,099 cc gives the Versys 1100's engine a boost in power from 120 PS to 135 PS. The more robust mid-range and increased high-rpm power contribute to increased comfort when cruising on the highway, facilitating long-distance touring. The climb from low through high rpm is even more exhilarating, while superb throttle response, strong torque at all rpm, and a seductive intake howl further contribute to riding excitement.

KQS (KAWASAKI QUICK SHIFTER)

Complementing the Versys 1100's exhilarating engine character, KQS enables clutchless upshifts and downshifts for seamless acceleration and quick and easy deceleration. The improved KQS feature operates in a wider range of rpm, with the minimum changing from 2,500 rpm to 1,500 rpm, giving riders smooth shifts even when in town or doing slower-speed riding for added riding comfort.

SUSPENSION

Long-travel suspension delivers a smooth ride on imperfect roads, allowing you to ride with confidence on various road conditions. Lightweight 17" wheels front and rear contribute to quick, sporty handling.

BRAKES

Highly rigid 4-piston, radial-mount, monobloc front brake calipers grip large ø310 mm petal discs and pair with a radial-pump front master brake cylinder to produce superb feel and potent stopping power.

TOURING COMFORT AND PERFORMANCE

Not only is the Versys 1100 exciting to ride, but it also offers the comfort and carrying capacity to allow riders to ride long and far. A highly comfortable seat and good wind protection complement the relaxed riding position, making it easier to spend a long time in the saddle. Passenger comfort is also superb, making it easy to share the fun. A high payload can accommodate panniers and a top case simultaneously, and numerous accessories add to comfort and convenience – especially welcome on multi-day trips.

UPRIGHT RIDING POSITION

A wide handlebar facilitates control, especially for low-speed manoeuvring. Positioned to offer a natural grip, it allows the rider's elbows to be slightly bent when sitting in a relaxed, upright stance. Low and forward footpeg placements contribute to a spacious riding position.

SEATS

Both rider and passenger seats offer thick urethane cushioning to provide the comfort to enable long hours in the saddle.

WINDSHIELD

Range of adjustability on the large, vented windshield is 40 mm. Height can be adjusted from the rider's seat (without tools, using two knobs on the inside of the screen) to suit rider preference.

LUGGAGE

The mounting system allows the 28-litre panniers to be easily attached and removed for increased convenience. The Versys 1100 can accommodate both an accessory top case and panniers simultaneously.

POWER SOURCES

A USB Type-C outlet mounted on the left handlebar offers riders a convenient power source. A DC outlet, located in the cockpit, can also be used to power small electronic devices.

ADVANCED EQUIPMENT AND TECHNOLOGY

Advanced technology and special equipment available on the Versys 1100 S take the Versys riding experience to the next level. LED cornering lights, full-colour TFT instrumentation, smartphone connectively—now with Voice Command—and heated grips and hand covers are all standard features on the S model.

CORNERING LIGHTS

LED cornering lights, sets of three lights built into each side of the fairing, help illuminate the road when cornering. Each of the three lights has a fixed direction and is activated based on lean angle. As the bike leans over, the lights come on in order, creating a wider illuminated path in the direction the bike is heading.

INSTRUMENTATION

Instrumentation with an advanced, high-tech design gives the cockpit a very high-class appearance. The analogue-style tachometer is complemented by a high-grade full colour TFT LCD screen.

SMARTPHONE CONNECTIVITY

Using the smartphone application "RIDEOLOGY THE APP," a number of instrument functions can be accessed, contributing to an enhanced motorcycling experience. The new version of the smartphone app now offers the ability for riders to control the app with voice commands*, which allows them adjust motorcycle settings, set GPS routes and more orally.

*RIDEOLOGY THE APP is not intended for use during vehicle operation. Only use RIDEOLOGY THE APP when the vehicle is not being operated and it is safe to do so. Voice Command and Navigation functions will be available only to users who have a licence. Although generally a paid service, a one-year free licence will be granted to purchasers of certain models. Licences will be sold for a fee after the second year, or to users who do not possess a free licence at the time of vehicle purchase.

GRIP HEATERS AND HAND COVERS

Grip heaters keep riders' hands warm in cold weather, while hand covers offer increased wind protection, further contributing to comfort.
