Honda Monkey - HAS ARRIVED!

Honda Monkey - HAS ARRIVED!

Honda announced at the 2018 Bangkok Motor Show that the cult-favourite Honda Monkey will see a reboot this year in Australia and now the Monkey magic has hit Australian streets and is now available from your local TeamMoto Honda dealer!

The familiar 50cc engine has been retired in favour of the Grom's injected 125cc with a 4-speed manual transmission. ABS disc brakes front and rear are now standard.

Honda's genuinely iconic mini-bike is re-imagined for the present day, with styling that draws heavily on the original, complemented by modern, premium touches such as USD forks, twin rear shocks, LCD instruments, IMU-based ABS and full LED lighting. Wet weight is a mere 107kg.

The Monkey was so much fun and so easy to ride, it did more to sell the concept of motorcycles to a wider public than perhaps any other machine. With its chunky tyres, mini-ape-style handlebars, miniscule fuel tank and big, squashy seat the Monkey look is unmistakably of its time, but - just like the affection in which it is held – also timeless.

After the modern-day success of the sharp-suited MSX125, which proved the desire for a funky, pocket-sized town run-around, it was time for the Monkey name to return, reborn and ready for life in the 21st century city.

The rear suspension is a classic twin shock design, meaning a little more weight - reflected in the 3kg mass increase over the Grom.

To further enhance the vintage appeal of the new Monkey, Honda have elected to use higher profile 120/80/12(F) & 130/80/12 (R) tyres over the Grom's 120/70/12(F) & 130/70/12(R) rubber.

Contact your local Honda dealer today. To find out how you can ride away on a brand new Monkey!
